How are you? I hope you are well. I am fine.

I live in Guayaquil, is a beautiful city. Right now I'm in sixth course, in Quibio in the Asuncion school. This is a difficult year for me, where I am already getting ready for college and my new major. In this year we are doing the project, which is a social activity in which we help a specific sector, by doing many activities. This activity is part of the score of the school for graduation. They even help to prepare us as good people. But at the same time I am very happy because I will have a new experience in my life. And I hope everything goes well. In my plans I will be a nutritionist and get a good job. And I will do well because this school provided me with values ​​and knowledge and acquired all the way to succeed in college.

Now the parents, just give money for their children, and the children say: "My father is the best of all the world, because I have a lot of money and I can buy anything that I want.

Some parents do this because they don't have a lot of time to spend with their children, so they want to fill this emptiness with money. If i was a father I'd have a good relationship with my sons, and I'd  always talk with them. All Sundays we'd go to other places and star with my family , eat together and play together.

I think there are not bad parents, just they can't stay with their families for the job. To sum up, these parents have to organize their time and they could have free time.

Many people use the internet in a bad form, because the internet is a huge world that people can reach when they are online. If you are lucky, you cand fall in love with and unknown person, also there are many porno sites and this is a big disadvantage.


The advantages are that you can find a job and it can be used for school purposes. also people use the internet for communicating with family that are in other countries or live abroad. Besides you can chat with friends.


Well people of all ages use this tool for any reasons, they could be good or bad. To sum up, people have to be aware if the use of internet.

QUE BONITO!!!

Mario Moreno Cantinflas used to say an expression when the end of his movies were going to have a happy ending. QUE BONITO that this is the group who have posted their essays on the blog. Just there are 6 students who I am still waiting for.

Many people have to social nets in this time.The social nets for the teens are very important.Butthe socual nets are dangerous it people depend on then.
because you can use the social nets for bad things for example the people use this do escape from their problems.Im additon many people fall in love with an unknown person. But this is not good because the person has a relationship whith strongers then they don´t meet at all.

here you will see the 'cuadro de calificacion' that was explained at the beginning of the school year.

Partial exam:
Reading for 5 points
Speaking for 5 points
Writing for 5 points
Listening for 5 points

CO-EVALUATIVE ITEMS:
1- Actitud y disposicion en clase 3 points
2- Participacion Pertinente y relevante 3 points
3- Material en clase y bien presentado 1 point
4- Presentacion de Higiene y Limpieza 1 point
5- Puntualidad en Clase 1 point

7- Portfolio o Writing Activities: essays, compositions, emails, etc. 3 points
8- Mini quiz 3 points.

It is important to say that the items: 1, 2, 4 and 5 are graded by each student. If there is any disagreement between the teacher and the student, they will discuss it.

Next week I am going to collect all text books for grading the item 3 so I recommend you to cover them with a plastic protection.

Many people have a lot of time, and can spend this time on different activities like hanging out with friends, slepping, or the most popular activity today: Using social nets, like facebook, twitter and others.

Using social nets helps people and children to escape from their problems and to met new people. Also the social nets help you to fall in love with an unknown person. You can communicate with other persons.

On th hand, many people think that the social nets are bad for the world because the people can view pornography and could become addict to it.

To sum up, there are both advantages and disadvantages to social nets. I think that it can be a good thing for people when they use them with responsability.

In this time the world depends on a lot of stuff, and one of this is the internet.
The social nets have advantages like:
Comunication with people in other places, download information of work, chat with friends, watch some information for homeworks and more.
It has desadventages too like:
Fall in love with stranger, PORNOGRAPHY and worse ADDICTION!.
Unfortunately a lot of people like kids, teens and adults use social nets and a lot of them depend on this.

EXAMS SCHEDULE AND RUBRICS

Hi Guys,

Here you have the schedule for your exams:

What are rubrics? Well, they are the particular criteria that every teacher is supposed to use for evaluating students in different areas. For example in History, Language, Math, etc.

Oral Exam: May 14th (Monday). It will be for 5 points. The rubrics are the next:

Teacher will mark each topic from 1-5. Five is the maximum.	When you can get a 5?  When:
GRAMMAR AND VOCABULARY	The student appropriately uses a range of structures and vocabulary from the course with non impeding erros.
FLUENCY	The student can form several sentences together and react to questions without any undue hesitation.
PRONUNCIATION	The student can be easily understood and shows fairly natural speech (intonation, stress and linking).
INTERACTIVE COMMUNICATION	The student can respond and initiate interaction
CONTENT AND GLOBAL GOAL	The oral practice must be in relation with the given instruction.

Written Exam: May 16th (Wednesday). Let´s remember that this exam will include reading, listening and writing. Five points each.
The rubrics that will be taken into consideration are the next:

5	The content is fully in relation with the instruction. The message is clearly communicated  2 or less spelling and grammatical errors.
4	The content is fully in relation with the instruction.                       The message is clearly communicated                        From 2 to 4 spelling and grammatical errors.
3	The content is in relation with the instruction.        The message is  communicated            From 5-6 spelling and grammatical errors.
2	The content is a little bit in relation with the instruction. The message is a little bit communicated. More than 7 spelling and grammatical errors.

Using the internet‏







Today, the internet is a very
important tool to work and study, the internet is the most common source of
information about everything and herlp to resorve problems at worl and school.



In the high school it is very useful to do a lot investigation about any topic
of study and students can read stories, watch movies and send e-mail to be
communicated with the teachers at this helps the students to get great grades.
It is some in work, the internet can resolve problems and help to be
communicated. The internet has a lot information od different things and people
can chat with their friends too, it has a lot of advantages.



However, there are disadvantages too, some people use the internet to hide
themselves pretend to be other persons, this is a kind of cheating and other disadvantage
is that on internet the people can watch porn and that perturbed the minds of
the children and it is addictive, other problem is that bad persons use it to
find kids or teenagers to hurt them.



To sum up, internet is a good tool but if you use ir correctly and people give
a good use because it has a lot of good things.

Technology has two faces in this world because the man created this tool to make our lives easier but human begins aren’t perfect, the internet is an example has advantages and disadvantages.

Currently all teenagers can access to this tool all day and night and this is the window of different problems one of the most common disadvantages is get the pornographic pages and the little boys and girls intro the bad world.

But in our lives we have a positive point. The internet makes easier investigations and in the school you will do homework with more information.

The people think that communication is important for everyone and the internet makes it easier: talking with others around the world. I like to watch different programs in you tube and my favorite movies.

In conclusion the internet is not bad because the person that uses it in the bad form the technology, the people are bad or good it depends on the use.

Many people have internet in their homes and can get some information, and meet people around the world. The internet is good but social nets could be a problem. when they are not used wisely.

In this time the social nets have some advantages or disadvantages. Around the world people use them for communicating with family who live abroad, others chat with friends, download information and use them in their with online games.

Also social nets hace some information that should be banned for teens. People use this to escape from their problems, and others can fall in love with unknown persons.

To sum up, social nets allow us to communicate with some people but we can get addicted to it.

Lons time ago the internet was created and every day new web sites re made and more people entered to this invention. More often by the teeneagers, who domain the internet´s web site for doing homework, meting people and spending some time on it. One of the most visited web sites in the entire world and by almost every person are the social net.

The most common social net is facebokk created by Mark Zuckerberg. This social net was got everything that teens want, like share music or photos, post a comment on many groups, chat with someone who you haven´t seen it for a long time and have a lot of time enjoying the social video games.

But not everything is good on the social net, there are a lot of disadventages on this web site because of the bad people who have acces to. One of the most common problem of these persons, it´s than they lie at the teenagers just for hurting them or in some cases steal them in their house because those teeneager say everything to everyone making a several security problem to themself and their´s families.

To sum it up, there are many advantages and disadvanteges to this social net and everything depens on the person who use it. Obviously If someone do not moderate the use of these web sites the disadvanteges becomes more dangerous, thats why everybody, inclouding old mans and kids, must to know how to use this page correctly.

Just I can say WOW!!! You do know how to show your opinions strongly. Some given points of view about why we should write in Spanish first make me think that we have to practice writing a lot.

Regarding to this point, I'd like to say that I have checked your essays. There are some points that I'd like you to take into consideration. In my poor experience as an English teacher, I have learnt that there are some types of essays and one of them is discoursive. In a good web site -that I don't remember now- said that essays should be written in third person and we have to avoid contractions. It means that the opinions that are given in it shouldn't start with "I think", "It's my opinion that", etc. We could say: it has been shown, it has been demonstrated, etc.

There are 2 students who haven´t handed in their drafts yet: Luis and Rebeca. I will wait for you tomorrow in the teacher's room during the second recess. The topic is about Social Nets.

On the other hand, there are some students who need to repeat their essays or finish them, and there is a group that are ready to be posted in this blog. I will be very happy to see them here. You can upload pictures in relation to the topic we have worked.

Well, there is no more to say for now. The last thing I´d like to ask you is you should check this blog very often.

Translation in learning English

In Ancient Times, priests used to translate the bible and other official documents from Greek and other Antique Languages to their first languages: French, Italian, German and others. This hard activity took them years. This was a form to learn a second language too and it was known as the TRANSLATION METHOD.

Using translation for learning English shouldn´t be seen as a problem. Every student needs to translate, no matter the level of the student  -advanced, intermediate or beginners- translation is used as a useful strategy to learn expressions, slangs, phrases or simple vocabulary words.

BUT...when does it become a real problem? The answer is very simple: When students use Spanish to write sentences, paragraphs, compositions or essays and then they try to "translate" them into English.
If you pay close attention to this, you will discover that this is the same activity done twice -very similar to the translations done by priests in ancient times-. It's stressful, time consuming and really annoying. What do you think? What is your best choice: translate or write in English first?

Why have I chosen this name for your blog?...well the idea is that you feel free to write any thoughts that come to you  based on the topics that will be given through this school year.
The objective is to improve your writing skills in the classroom and then your drafts can be posted in this blog.
But the most important objective to me is that you don´t feel forced to write.
